Spring Session of The New York Public Library's Free English
Classes for Speakers of Other Languages Opens for Registration April 11
Free classes in English for speakers of other languages
are offered by The New York Public Library in Association with the Riverside
Language Program, Inc. Beginning April 11 at libraries throughout the Bronx,
Manhattan, and Staten Island, adults and young adults over age 16 who wish to
improve their English-speaking skills can sign up at one of 20 of the Library's
branches where the classes are held. Classes at both beginner and low intermediate
levels are offered.
Participants must register in person at the branch library
where the classes will be held. As space is limited, registration will be drawn
by lot at all branches. An English test will be given at the time of registration
to determine class placement. Anyone of eligible age is welcome. Documentation
is not required. Children are not permitted at registration. More information
