Literary Magazine Editors Introduce Emerging Writers at The New York Public Library's "Periodically Speaking" Series

The Council of Literary Magazines and Presses (CLMP) and The New York Public Library present Periodically Speaking, a reading series providing a major new venue for emerging writers to present their work while emphasizing the diversity of literary magazines in New York City and the magazine collections of The New York Public Library. Each event presents writers from three influential literary magazines -- one poet, one fiction writer, one nonfiction writer -- introduced by their publisher/editors.

Tuesday, April 11, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

A Public Space
The new independent magazine of literature and culture, founded by Brigid Hughes and based in Brooklyn.
Editor Brigid Hughes will introduce nonfiction writer Ian Chillag.

Land-Grant College Review
In 2004 the LGCR was the only literary magazine nominated by the editors of the Utne Reader for an Independent Press Award. Editor Josh Melrod will introduce fiction writer Jim Hanas.

LIT Magazine
Published by the Creative Writing Program at New School University, LIT contains poetry, short fiction, essays, and criticism.
Editor Justin Marks will introduce poet Katie Degentesh.
