Literary Magazine Editors Introducing Emerging Writers at The New York Public Library

The Council of Literary Magazines and Presses [clmp] and The New York Public Library present Periodically Speaking, a reading series providing a major new venue for emerging writers to present their work while emphasizing the diversity of literary magazines in New York City and the magazine collections of The New York Public Library. Each event presents writers from three influential literary magazines—one poet, one fiction writer, one nonfiction writer—introduced by their publishers/editors.

McSweeney’s
A journal created by nervous people in relative obscurity, Timothy McSweeney’s Quarterly Concern is published four times a year.
Editor Eli Horowitz introduces nonfiction writer Kevin Moffett.

jubilat
jubilat aims to publish not only the best in contemporary American poetry, but to place it alongside a varied selection of reprints, found pieces, lyric prose, art, and interviews.
Editor Robert Casper introduces poet Erica Kaufman.

Ploughshares
In 1971 Ploughshares was founded in the Plough and Stars, an Irish pub in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Each issue is guest-edited by a prominent writer who explores personal visions, aesthetics, and literary circles.
Assistant Fiction Editor Jay Baron Nicorvo introduces fiction writer Katherine Bell.
