Jane Fisher Named The New York Public Library’s Coordinator of Information Services for The Branch Libraries

New York, March 28, 2001 -- Jane Fisher was recently appointed as the Coordinator of the Office of Information Services for The Branch Libraries. As Coordinator, Ms. Fisher is responsible for system-wide overall planning, guidance, and delivery of reference and electronic information services. Prior to assuming her current position, she was the project manager for CHOICES, The New York Public Library's health information initiative. In that role, she was successful in building sustained partnerships with a variety of health and human services agencies and wrote "Link by Link: Building NOAH's Women's Health Page,"  in Health Care on the Internet, Volume 4, No. 2/3, 2000.

A native of Connecticut, Jane Fisher holds a Master's Degree in Library and Information Studies from The University of Wisconsin-Madison and is currently matriculated in the School of Public Affairs at the City University of New York where she is pursuing a  master's degree in Public Administration.

Ms. Fisher is the Secretary of the Consumer Health section of the Medical Library Association, Treasurer of the Reference and Adult Services section of the New York Library Association, and is a member of the American Library Association.
