  • NYC Resource List for Victims of Domestic Violence
    Listing of hotline numbers and websites where victims of domestic violence can get help. Includes information on counseling, referral, advocacy, children's, and legal services. Lists area hospitals with domestic violence coordinators. A hotline, 1-800-621-HOPE (4673), provides help in over 150 languages.

  • Safe Horizon
    Safe Horizon is the largest provider of domestic violence services in the country. Services include those for survivors of domestic violence, stalking, rape, and sexual assault; survivors of state-sponsored torture or human trafficking; youth involved in abusive relationships and homeless/street-involved youth. Legal representation is available for low-income and indigent victims of domestic violence for some legal proceedings.

  • Center Against Domestic Violence
    The Center Against Domestic Violence operates shelters to house and feed women and children who are homeless because of domestic violence. In addition, they provide supportive services, including counseling and children's programs, to battered women and children. A 24-hour hotline is available at 718-439-1000.

  • New York City Gay & Lesbian Anti-Violence Project
    The New York City Gay and Lesbian Anti-Violence Project (AVP) is the nation's largest crime-victim service agency for the lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual, and HIV-affected communities. AVP assists victims of bias and pick-up crimes, domestic violence, rape and sexual assault, and HIV-related violence. Legal services are available. A 24-hour hotline offering help in English and Spanish is available at 212-714-1141.

  • Benefits for Immigrants (Domestic Violence Victims)
    From the Mayor's Office to Combat Domestic Violence, a listing of services to immigrants who are the victims of domestic violence. Services include shelter and legal assistance, prenatal care, and hotlines. Call 1-800-621-HOPE (4673) for help in over 150 languages.

  • Sanctuary for Families
    Sanctuary for Families is dedicated to meeting the needs of victims of domestic violence, while advocating for societal change and raising public awareness to end violence against all women and their children.

  • Jewish Association for Services for the Aged -- Elder Abuse Services
    JASA offers the following elder abuse services to older adults living in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Nassau and Suffolk counties: counseling and legal representation for elderly abuse victims by attorney/social work teams, development of safety plans, and support groups.

  • Mayor's Office to Combat Domestic Violence
    Site offers a publications list, services for victims (including police, courts, housing, counseling), and special issues (victims with disabilities; elder abuse; lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender; immigrants; and teenagers).

  • New York Asian Women's Center
    The New York Asian Women’s Center helps battered Asian women overcome violence and govern their own lives, free of abuse. The Center also works to raise public awareness about domestic violence, advocate for the rights of battered women, and create an agenda for social change. Information available in several Asian languages.

  • SAKHI for South Asian Women
    Sakhi for South Asian Women, is a non-profit and community-based anti-domestic violence organization. Sakhi works with women of South Asian origin including women from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, as well as the South Asian Diaspora.
